It isn’t often that my adult children come & spend the afternoon with me. I would appreciate to have them do so more often but with jobs & kids of their own they have truly hectic schedules. Last Tuesday when my kid said he was coming over I was cheerful, but then I distraught because he never calls first. He said he wanted to make sure that both his dad & I were going to be home, okay, now I was honestly distraught. My friend and I waited nervously for him to arrive & when he did I was relieved to see that he was in superb health. He swiftly told us that he had wanted us both dwelling because he had a crucial surprise for us. He then proceeded to tell us how grateful he was that my superb friend and I had always supported him no matter what & that he had been looking for a way to repay us for everything. My friend and I told him that he was not obligated to do so, but, he & his spouse had discussed it & wanted to do this thing for us! He then proceeded to tell us that a brand new HVAC system was going to be installed next week & that my superb friend and I would have a state of the art system instead of the one that failed on us all the time. It would save cash on our energy cost too & my superb friend and I could even program it remotely if my superb friend and I wanted to, but i can’t say that I am so cheerful with all of the high tech features but it will be nice to save on the gas bill & not worry that the system will split down when my superb friend and I need it most.
