I love to visit my grandparents.
Not a lot of the other grandchildren visit them so I make sure that I go when I get the chance.
I try to go at least twice a week. My grandmother always has a big meal prepared every time I come over. She always tells me to tell her at least a day in advance when I think I’ll be over so she can prepare a nice meal for all of us. They get very excited and they love to talk when I am around. They also like when I come over because I can help them do the things that they can no longer do. For example pick up some boxes, take out the trash and clean certain areas that are hard for them to reach. The other day I was letting the dog outside and I left the door open. My grandfather kind of yelled at me and told me that I needed to keep the door closed because I was letting all of the heat out. My grandparents are a little uptight when it comes to leaving doors open. They think that they are going to instantly lose money and energy very quickly. My grandfather says that this causes the HVAC system to run harder and longer than it needs to be. It is true in a way but I can see if I left the door open for more than 10 minutes. I was just leaving the door open for 10 seconds. I don’t think his HVAC system would have had much an effect.
