Before purchasing their home, my parents were truly selective about the Heating and A/C system already installed in the home.
They searched a lot of great homes, but if the Heating and A/C system didn’t meet their standards, they wouldn’t even put an offer in on the home.
I don’t have a great understanding of boilers and air conditioning systems, although I know my dad does. She briefly worked for an Heating and A/C dealer, so I trusted her opinion on the matter. I expected my parents to purchase a household with a brand current Heating and A/C system, but they absolutely did the opposite! You can imagine my shock when they told me that the household they wanted had an Heating and A/C system that was over 12 years old! In my dad’s words, the Heating and A/C system was operational, but it wasn’t efficient and it would burn out within 6 months. I was truly confused about their decision to purchase this house, so I asked my parents to tell me why they’d picked this household out of all the other ones. They liked the idea of ripping out the seasoned Heating and A/C system and replacing it with a high efficiency Heating and A/C system of their liking. They wanted to pick out the exact model and start fresh with their heat and air system instead of using one that was already installed. They were able to negotiate the price of the condo due to the Heating and A/C system and update the Heating and A/C system without going over their budget… Once they explained their reasoning, I completely understood why they picked the household that they did.
