I finally decided to call out an HVAC company.
For the past 2 years my house has been super cold in the winter and rather warm in the summer.
The furnace or the air conditioner never kick off. They run constantly and yet my house is never comfortable. I have been supplementing the central heating and air with space heaters and ceiling fans but it’s not enough. Besides, my electric bill is through the roof every single month. I really should have called out and HVAC company 2 years ago when I first moved in. I didn’t because I was afraid that I would have to replace my entire HVAC system. My brother had to do that recently and it cost him thousands of dollars. I just didn’t want to pay for an expense like that. But, looking back, I probably wasted thousands of dollars on my electric bill because I let the problem go for so long. When I finally called up the HVAC company my repair bill only ended up being a few hundred dollars. It turned out that I just needed a ductwork sealing as well as a little bit of ductwork repair. Apparently my ductwork was all coming apart under my house. That means that over half of the air was escaping outside. No wonder my house was always uncomfortable. Now that the HVAC company fixed my ductwork my house is comfortable again. The air conditioner just kicked off. That is something that has never happened before. I finally turned off the ceiling fans. I bet I won’t need the space heaters in the winter either. The central heat should be enough.
