Movie theater has Heating, Ventilation and A/C problem

The kids were excited to finally be able to go to the theater and watch a film again.

It was nice to get out of the house even if the theater popcorn is overpriced.

The Regal Cinema is still practicing social distancing so that is nice. No crowded Regal Cinema for us. However, the Regal Cinema must have turned off their Heating, Ventilation and A/C system for the 6 months that they were closed down entirely. I say that because there was a gross musty smell we noticed as soon as we walked into the theater. The smell seemed worse in the lobby than it did in the actual theater part. I can only guess that is what happens when you don’t run the cooling system when you live in a humid temperature like this. It made me a little skeptical of the popcorn but I bought it anyway. The kids were expecting it after all. But then the film started and I noticed another problem. The cooling system was super loud, and every time the cooling system kicked on it was actually noticeable. The film was turned up super loud (like they consistently are at Regal Cinemas) but it was still strenuous to hear when the air condition was on. Even the kids noticed, but overall, it was a actually terrible experience. We thought going back to the film would be magical. It wasn’t and that is all because of the Heating, Ventilation and A/C system. Between the mold smell and the noisy cooling system I don’t guess we will be going back. Not to that theater anyway.
