Movie theater has HVAC problem

Movie theater has HVAC problem

The kids were excited to finally be able to go to the theater and watch a movie again.

It was nice to get out of the house even if the theater popcorn is overpriced. The movie theater is still practicing social distancing so that is nice. No crowded movie theater for us. However, the movie theater must have turned off their HVAC system for the 6 months that they were closed down entirely. I say that because there was a gross musty smell we noticed as soon as we walked into the theater. The smell seemed worse in the lobby than it did in the actual theater part. I can only assume that is what happens when you don’t run the air conditioner when you live in a humid climate like this. It made me a little skeptical of the popcorn but I bought it anyway. The kids were expecting it after all. But then the movie started and I noticed another problem. The air conditioner was super loud. Every time the air conditioner kicked on it was very noticeable. The movie was turned up super loud (like they always are at movie theaters) but it was still hard to hear when the air condition was on. Even the kids noticed. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. We thought going back to the movie would be magical. It wasn’t and that is all because of the HVAC system. Between the mold smell and the noisy air conditioner I don’t think we will be going back. Not to that theater anyway.
