I adore sleeping in a cooler environment, however there’s nothing worse than being too cold while trying to sleep, and last week, I woke up shivering in the middle of the evening! I was so cold and couldn’t get moderate no matter what I did, i piled two extra blankets on my bed and pulled on an extra pair of socks and a thick sweatshirt, and since it was the middle of the evening and I was drowsy, I did not realize that something was really wrong with my boiler. As I was shivering under the covers for 30 minutes attempting to fall asleep, it finally dawned on me that my home shouldn’t have been as cold as it was. I turned the heat on before I went to sleep like I normally did, so there was no reason for it to feel like I was sleeping at the North Pole, reluctantly, I got up to check my thermostat settings. I saw that I had the boiler turned on and the temperature was set to 68 degrees, however the thermostat said that my home was 65 degrees! To be honest, 65 degrees was higher than I was anticipating because it felt much colder. I thought about calling the emergency Heating, Ventilation and A/C line, however I did not want to pay the higher fee. Instead, I decided to suck it up and deal with the cooler temperatures. I already knew I’d have to pay for the boiler repair, so I didn’t want to spend extra currency to have them come out right away. It could wait until morning.
