I am interested in a new thermostat for my home.
A couple of days ago, I started researching the most well-known brands and models.
I wanted to compare the available features and customer satisfaction rating. Some of them are easier to navigate than others. Most of them include very similar warranties. I got really excited when I came across a thermostat that features geofencing. I’d actually never heard of this before. Geofencing involves an invisible perimeter surrounding the home. When family members are inside the border, they are considered to be at home. The thermostat ensures that the living space is kept at a perfectly comfortable temperature. When we exit the perimeter, the thermostat conserves energy. It automatically makes adjustments to reduce demands on the furnace or air conditioner. We don’t pay to heat or cool an empty house. Because I can never remember to raise or lower the temperature setting before leaving the house in the morning, a smart thermostat would really help to save money. Since my family’s schedule constantly changes, geofencing is better for us than a set program. The thermostat will know when we’ve departed and when we’ve returned. It will eliminate the need for me to make changes. Plus the thermostat can be part of a smart home system that incorporates all of the household’s smart appliances. We could have the system set up to activate the lights, open the garage door, start the oven or whatever suits our purposes. The smartphone is the key to alerting the geofence device of our locations.
