We had a town meeting on Thursday and I finally know where all of our fees are going too.
- They are going into the electric bill for the town hall.
It was absolutely freezing in there. The thermostat must have been set to about 55 degrees. I noticed that all of the town officials were dressed up like it was snowing. They must have known it would be freezing. That evening. In fact, I think they made it freezing cold on purpose so that we would stay long with our complaints. I have gone to the town hall at other times and the air conditioner is not blasting away so cold. Despite the cold, I decided to say and make sure my voice was heard. I forced myself to stay the entire hour and a half. I can’t be pushed away with a little cold air. However, I will admit that I turned up my heater in the car on the drive home. I also used my smart thermostat to crank up the heater at home. By the time I got home I was just starting to dethaw a little bit. After about an hour in my nice warm house I finally felt like turning the heater down several degrees. But dang! I think the next town meeting should be about the use of the air conditioner in the town meetings. I bet they try this again too. After all, a lot of people did leave early because of the air conditioning. Next time I am going to dress in layers. I can’t believe I live in a place that plays these kinds of games.
