We Don’t Use Our Furnace Often

Where I live in the south, my buddy and I truly rarely run our boiler.

9 months out of the year require an air conditioning system and a great one at best.

The summer time months bring harsh heat and humidity and the air conditioning system is run heavily all day and evening, then during the three months that our boiler was needed, it somehow stopped laboring and my buddy and I needed to call the local Heating and A/C company to come service it. In the 10 years that we’ve owned this home, we’ve never had to call an Heating and A/C business to come look at our boiler. The Heating and A/C business arrived to look at our boiler at a sufficient time and got to work instantly. When she was done servicing the boiler, she told us that there was nothing particular that caused the boiler to malfunction; Unluckyly, the boiler was over 10 years seasoned and it had experienced it’s share of wear and tear. Although my buddy and I didn’t run the boiler often, it was still old. According to our Heating and A/C business, a boiler not being used enough can periodically cause faster wear on the equipment. This was surprising to us, so my buddy and I asked the Heating and A/C business if there was a different heat source that was better for our location with harsh heat and rare cool temperatures, then she recommended my buddy and I install a heat pump because it circulated refrigerants to cool our condo as well. The heat pump would get used all year long even though my buddy and I weren’t just using it for heat.
