Wishing for relief after a long morning’s work

I am not sure if you are aware of the situation that more than 2 farmers are facing this year.

The lack of migrant workers, thanks to the new events, is affecting their ability to harvest crops. Normally there are at least a hundred workers in our neighborhood that travel along the farming route working as they go. This year, my family that owns a giant farm, has had to rely on locals to help out when they can, then young people who may be looking for summer time tasks don’t last long due to the long hours and tough work either, but they would rather work at the local fast food arena than opportunity corn for eight hours in the tepid sun. I can’t say as I blame them much because that is exactly what I have been doing every morning for the past week, however my dad insists that all the picking is done by hand so at the end of the morning I am beat. All I want is a unbelievable bath and my cooling system. I don’t even watch TV. I come home, relax in the tub for an hour, eat dinner, and then crank the AC. I lay on my bed which is right under one of the air vents and I am asleep in no time. I know that the migrant workers appreciate the tasks they have despite the fact that I can’t imagine doing this type of work everyday for months on end. Many of them don’t even have the luxury of sleeping in climate controlled spaces at the farms where they work. At least dad has a bunkapartment for them where they can get some relief.
