Being in the heating ventilation and cooling field is stressful at times but it really is a learn as you go kind of experience.
If you make a mistake, you have backup and other technicians who can assist you and next time, you know not to make that mistake again. When I first started out in this industry I had a technician that I would follow and learn from. I also did some extensive training and received certifications, but just like any job you never really learn what you’re doing until you’re actually doing it. I’ve been an hvac technician for about 15 years now and I can say that I really do enjoy it. I have learned so much over the years and I’ve become very knowledgeable when it comes to the different types of air purifiers. There are media air cleaners which are a good fit for people who are healthy and don’t have issues with asthma or allergies and when there’s 3 pets or less living in the home too. Another purifier is a media plus PCO air cleaner. These type of cleaners are similar to the media air cleaners but also assist with issues of odors in the home. Electronic air cleaners are for homeowners who don’t want to pay for replacement air filters. This type of cleaner is more effective in eliminating bacteria and viruses and may be good for young children and elders. The other system is a combination unit and is very advanced and is ideal for people with upper respiratory issues such as breathing problems, asthma and allergies. Air purifiers are becoming very popular and I always make sure that I give the homeowner different options to see what best fits their needs.
